Singer Whitney Houston died Saturday in Beverly Hills, according to law enforcement sources.

Authorities are trying to determine a cause of death. It’s unclear whether she died at a hotel or in a residence, said the source, who asked to remain anonymous because the investigation is ongoing.
Houston, 48, was in the Los Angeles area for a musical tribute to music executive Clive Davis and had performed and spoken to reporters earlier in the week.

I arrived in London last Monday! I was super excited to be able to come back to England and spend some time enjoying the culture. I do have to admit, usually I hate sightseeing and doing touristy stuff; but this time I gave in.
First we started by going to my favorite London restaurant named Nandos! (I also really like a restaurant named Wagamama in London.) They do really good spicy chicken with peri peri french fries. Our lunch was so good! After that, we decided to head out on the Tube (subway) and head over to Buckingham Palace. We arrived and it was beautiful! So much gold and amazing gates, and of course an amazing palace. After Buckingham Palace, we did my favorite thing of the day- Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Museum. I gotta say, they really showed some weird stuff in the London version…but it was still great! :)

Did you know? — On this day in 1964 The Beatles arrived in New York.
Photographer Mike Mitchell, then 18 years old, shot the Beatles performing their iconic first concert in the United States at the Washington Coliseum. The concert occured just two days after the band’s momentous performance on The Ed Sullivan Show, a debut which drew over 74 million television viewers.
Looking back, Mitchell recalls,

“to me, this concert was an opportunity to do portraits, and to get an up close look, to really see who these guys were! Many Americans emerging from the sleep-walking fifties saw the Beatles as very strange creatures indeed. Most of the establishment press treated them as mere novelty. My generation however felt an immediate connection with them and still do.”
